How to Crop an A4 size(8.5"x11") Page to 4"x6" Label.

In an ideal world, shipping companies would provide you with a 4 x 6 inches label file, with the correct orientation and appropriate quality. That would make sense because they want your label to be 4" x 6"!

In reality, however, shipping companies think if you don't have a commercial solution (more on that shortly), then you are a very low-volume shipper and are probably printing at home on a standard 8.5" x 11" printer - which is the most common home printer. So you may have to crop a full size 8.5" x 11" page to a 4" x 6" label before printing on your Thermal Label Printer.

Note: Selling channels such as PayPal, Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, eBay can provide their labels in 4 x 6 size ready for thermal label printer directly. Please check this link on Platform Setup -how to printer labels on most popular platforms.

For Mac users, our favorite method to crop a full size 8.5" x 11" page to a 4" x 6" label is using Adobe Reader's "Take a Snapshot" function or using Preview's "Take a screenshot  " function

Warning: Trying to take a directly using other software may seriously reduce the quality of the printing source, causing fuzzy printed labels.

Using Adobe Reader to Take a Snapshot

  1. Download Adobe Reader if you do not have it yet from the Adobe website. It's a free PDF Reader software from Adobe.
  2. Save your label as a PDF file.
  3. Open the file in Adobe Reader.
  4. Rotate the label if needed by going to View -> Rotate View.
  5. Go to Edit -> Take a Snapshot.
  6. Click and drag the box over your label.
  7. Go to File -> Print

If the preview looks good, click "Print".

Following are the Screenshot for these Steps.
