This document is for Aobio printers and Mac computers.

Step 1: Prepare for the printer setup

Please confirm the following requirements and items before you begin to set up and driver:
  1. Aobio requires Mac OS X 10.9 or higher.
  2. Obtain a USB cable less than 3 m (9 ft 10 in) in length.
  3. There is an available USB2.0/3.0 port on your computer: If you connect the printer through a USB hub or docking station, the printer might not receive enough power or stable signal to properly operate.
  4. The printer is turned on and in ready status.

Note: If your Mac has only Type-C ports, you need to obtain a Type-C printer cable to connect the Mac Computer and Printer directly(as following picture). If you connect through a USB hub or docking station, the printer might not receive enough power or stable signal to properly operate.

Step 2: Install the Driver

1.    Please download the latest version of Aobio's Mac Driver from www.AobioPrinter.com, or you can find

the driver in the U Disk comes with the package.

2.   Once the download finished, you should see the screen shown below.
( We highly recommend you open the installation guide to follow along.)

Double click on the pkg file to begin the installation.

3. Follow the installation steps until you receive the "The installation was successful" message and click "Close".

4.  Open  the "System Preferences" and click on the "Printers and Scanners."

5. In the next window, press the "+"

6. Click on Aobio Thermal Printer, and then choose "Select Software" in the drop-down menu.

7. Please search/find "Aobio X4/Q5" and click OK.

8. Click on "Add"

9. When you see a blue next to Aobio Thermal Printer, you are all set.
